We Need a Citywide CBA Ordinance.

The North Side of Chicago is facing a housing crisis.

Community benefits agreements are contracts between developers and the community who will be impacted by that development. Groups like ONE Northside’s affordable housing team, working towards community benefits agreements at developments in Edgewater, Lakeview, and Uptown, and KOCO, fighting for a CBA for the Obama Library, demand real, citywide standards for effective CBAs.

But we can’t stop displacement on the North Side by negotiating with each individual condo developer: we need a strong citywide CBA ordinance to guarantee living wage jobs and real affordable housing in our communities.

HONNI HARRIS, UPTOWN RESIDENT

"Our elected officials to step up and create real standards so that people like me can stay on the North Side.”

TOM GORDON, WILSON MEN'S HOTEL

'We need community benefits agreements that benefits EVERY ONE of us. Not just the 1% developers."
